Personal trainer Holly Elswick limits her group classes to 15 students, dispensing individualized tips inside an intimate studio space. Her signature Raising the Barre course combines strength training with the core and flexibility work of yoga and Pilates, guiding guests through fluid, ballet-inspired stretches. During hatha-yoga classes, a medley of calming poses, or asanas, syncs with breathing techniques and meditation, and in cardio-kickboxing sessions feet and fists hone martial-arts jabs. Fierce Fitness By Design
Owner Holly Elswick combines her experience as a personal trainer and her extensive knowledge of yoga and Pilates to put together Fierce Fitness By Design's eclectic schedule of fitness classes. Clients can opt to gracefully increase strength and flexibility in barre and Pilates classes, or dance away the calories in high-octane Zumba courses. After each sweat session, patrons may retire to the onsite spa, where massage therapists soothe soreness acquired from the day’s activity. Specialists go even further in one-hour Escape sessions, which aim to pacify the body and spirit with a mix of guided imagery, meditation, and naps upon piles of freshly laundered socks.
