As children, we all dreamed of becoming crime fighting superheroes; we gave up such dreams when we discovered that role is already being handled by law enforcement. Since we can’t fight crime with masks and capes on, we can at least have fun while running to fight poverty. The one mile chip-timed race will be held in Crown Point Park. Philanthropic heroes will put on their rocket boots and battle their way to the finish line for World Vision and Feeding America, which helps alleviate hunger using every possible channel. A portion of the proceeds are used to fund outreach mission trips to Africa. The top three strongest heroes receive a gold, bronze, or silver medal. All participants will get a memorable superhero t-shirt, which you can comfortably sport under a dress shirt at work so you can be prepared to stop crime at any time. Unleash your weapon and help rid the world of one of its kryptonite’s…poverty—one mile at a time.
