In the NAUI or SDI certification course, you’ll first complete two classroom sessions, which are held on Tuesdays and the following Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.; each class contains up to 10 divers. In subsequent pool lessons, held on Saturdays, you’ll get acquainted with the scuba gear and learn basic safety measures. The course culminates in four open-water dives in Lake Murray; for an additional fee, participants can take their open-water dives in Florida Springs.
Dive times vary based on availability. Students must complete their classroom sessions by Thursday, April 11, pool dives by Saturday, April 20, and open-water dives by Saturday, April 27. While students must provide their own scuba-quality mask, fins, snorkel, and dive boots, they can attend the first class before purchasing it to obtain guidance from an instructor. Packages will also be available for purchase.
