Las Teresita’s Mexican Grill is the second culinary venture of Gaspar Perez, the former owner of Tacos Morelos, whose authentic, from-scratch Mexican cuisine stole the tummy hearts and belly minds of Twin Cities residents and the City Pages food critic. Diners select two dinner dishes from the platter menu and two beverages to carry out or to knock back amid the restaurant’s cherubic décor and secretly malevolent fountain. Dine-in guests can dapple the carne asada's tender roast beef with one of nine fresh, homemade salsas coolly awaiting their fates at the salsa bar. House-pickled cauliflower pokes against the orange roast pork of the carnitas platter, and the sizzling trio of chorizo, beef, and chicken in the fajitas Teresas, like the sole member of an anti-kitten protest, stands alone and cauliflower-free. The eatery’s exotic libations include sweet cinnamon-infused horchata and refreshing Jarritos Mexican sodas.
