Pop quiz time - what was the world's first prepared beverage? Hint - it is also the third most globally consumed beverage, after tea and coffee. Give up? Probably not, considering the title is right up there, and a bit of a spoiler. Today's WagJag lets you sip on a bit of history: $19 for admission for two to the Barrie Beer Fest (a $40 value). You must be 19 or older for this WagJag.
Celebrate the inaugural Barrie Beer Fest on June 15-16th. This event features over 40 brands of beer with local and imported beers, as well as micro breweries. Try $1 and $2 samples from award winning craft brewers like Camerons, Lake of Bays, and King Brewery, as well as international favourites such as Carlsberg and Innis and Gunn. And what would a night of beer be without the pub grub? Food vendors include Barrie's own Sticky Fingers Bar and Grill. Nightly entertainment will be provided by the legendary 3MDM - featuring some solid classic rock tunes to keep the night going. The first annual Barrie Beer Fest kicks off the start of summer as well as the start of Ontario Craft Beer Week in Barrie - plus hotels are well within walking distance, making it easy to have a fun and responsible night out.Barrie Curling Club175 Essa Rd.Barrie, ONL4N3L2www.barriebeerfest.com
