Rena Christine Photography’s shutterbug and namesake Rena employs years of professional experience and a BFA from Ryerson University to compose intimate and creative portraits of newborn babies. Rena keeps in close contact with parents-to-be as they await the arrival of their photogenic progeny, scheduling the shoot within two weeks of a neonate’s world premier while they carefully ponder their best side. Each on-location shoot lasts a minimum of three hours, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere and the capturing of 25 to 30 winning shots. Newborn cuteness is sent skyrocketing with props provided by Rena such as fuzzy hats, flowers, and a life-sized replica of their projected middle-aged self.

Once the shoot is complete, Rena deftly fine tunes photos and edits out lurking storks before displaying them in a password-protected online gallery for parental perusal. Three months after the session, clients receive a link to an online slideshow set to music that can be shared electronically with family and friends, and Rena also uploads select snaps to her blog and Facebook page. A set of 25 folded silk-finished announcement cards with envelopes enables far-flung relatives and friends to admire the new addition’s winsome likeness without the costs involved in shipping the baby from house to house.
