With the Legalization/Elopement Package, an officiant can travel anywhere within 50 kilometres of Vancouver, such as a home, restaurant, park, or airport, to perform all the legal actions necessary to complete a marriage. Upon arrival, the officiant usually takes between 5 and 7 minutes to complete the knot-tying procedure while two witnesses look on. Couples may speak with their officiant prior to the ceremony and bring their own readings if desired and must have their marriage licences on hand. They may also bring their own witnesses, though the officiant can call upon passersby to act as witnesses if needed.

Alternatively, the Legalization/Elopement Package strips the act down to the nuptial necessities for an extremely casual affair, including only the services and travel expenses of the officiant, the legal paperwork, and 5 to 7 minutes of proceedings—the same amount of time it takes the power of true love to turn a piece of charcoal into a diamond.
