Though Jeremy and April were both in the same 7th grade homeroom, fate separated them for years—until, one day, they reconnected through the 21st century’s cupid: Facebook. Today, the pair happily presides over Bayboro Café and Catering, where they incorporate ingredients from local vendors to create fresh seafood and upscale burger dishes. In the evening, diners lounging on the outdoor patio knife into smoked-gouda-encrusted steak or pry open steamed mussels with crowbars, while at midday, lunchers sink their teeth into burgers jazzed up with Cajun seasoning, fried eggs, and wasabi coleslaw. Theme nights, such as Wicked Pasta Wednesdays and Flatbread Fridays keep taste buds from getting bored.
In addition to switching up its menu throughout the week, Bayboro Café and Catering switches up the entertainment, hosting open mics on Thursdays and inviting local musicians to beat their guitars with drum sticks on weekends. Their events help create a sense of community, bringing together runners on Wednesday evenings for repast and yogis on Tuesday mornings for classes.
