• $99 for ombre or balayage highlights and a blow-dry (a $250 value)

Ombre highlighting starts with a darker color at the roots and gradually scales to lighter tips. With bayalage highlighting, a colorist paints the color on vertically on one side of the hair shaft to create a sunkissed, natural look.

Fan Van Brunt has a staff member for every year she’s been a stylist, and then some. An industry veteran of more than 20 years, Van Brunt owns Main St Annex Salon and serves as its master stylist. She shares her skill, which includes training under Bumble and bumble, Kérastase, and Oribe, with the more than 20 stylists, color experts, and assistants on her staff. Among Fan’s many priorities is keeping her staff up to date on the latest hair trends, creating an ever-evolving menu of hair techniques. There, clients may find traditional hairstyling services alongside ultramodern straightening treatments and ombre highlights, which, like leaning too close to a light bulb, leave hair brighter at the tips.
