  • Description:
In just ten years, Kelly Clarkson has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and kept fans enthralled with ten singles that have achieved Top 10 status on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Her moving voice has earned two Grammys, three MTV Video Music Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards and four American Music Awards live. Clarkson’s fifth studio album, “Stronger,” (which debuted at #2 on both the Billboard Top 200 and Digital Albums Chart) is chock full of her signature anthems, channeling heartbreak, female empowerment and celebration. “I think I gravitate toward songs with a defiant message because I always feel like I’m fighting just to be me. That’s why I tend to write or choose songs about how just being you is okay,” she says. The singer is also starring in the ABC show, “Duets,” where she performs with up and coming singers across the nation. Alongside Clarkson, piano-based rockers The Fray, will perform at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater on September 1, 2012. The Grammy-nominated band counts The Wallflowers, Counting Crows and U2 as influences, and they will perform their poignant hits like “Over My Head (Cable Car),” “How to Save a Life,” “You Found Me,” and “Never Say Never.” People magazine heralded their third full-length album, “Scars & Stories,” calling it a “solid effort that is easy on the ears.” To celebrate the release, which debuted #4 on Billboard Top 200, the band has performed on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Today Show,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and more. Opening act Carolina Liar (who has performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”) kicks off a night of great live music.
