Since 2001, Badfish has energetically replicated the ska-punk sound of Sublime, regaling fans who were never able to see the band live after the untimely death of primary songwriter and lead singer Bradley Nowell. Badfish culls its accurate renditions from the California punk legends’ three-album catalog, including hits from its major-label debut, Sublime, deep cuts from lo-fi classic Robbin’ the Hood, and several reggae-rich versions of the Baywatch theme song. Opening act Black Landlord raises the roof and evicts squatters with heaping horns and boiling funk, and the Steve Oakley Band fuses rock power and Americana poignancy like Norman Rockwell in spandex.
The Electric Factory has kept Philly fully charged with exciting and eclectic musical acts for more than 40 years. Its intimate atmosphere and brightly lit stage both grant stellar views for fans and anyone hoping to snag a rare photograph of the ever elusive roadie.
